These figures are from the registrar’s election-night dashboard, reached through its official results page. They are an early snapshot, not a certified result or a measure of how much of the final vote has been counted.

Percentages describe reported votes in this contest, not the percentage of all eligible voters or all expected ballots. Additional ballots and verification can change totals and margins. Read the official Orange County results and check later updates.

ORANGE, Orange County — Mayor Dan Slater and Councilmember Arianna Barrios are the two qualified candidates in Orange’s November 3, 2026, mayoral election, according to the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ candidate list. Both campaigns discuss financial discipline, but their published plans emphasize different changes at City Hall.

Dan Slater: enforcement, spending oversight and open space

Slater’s seven-point campaign plan calls for scrutiny of government spending, citizen oversight and a business-friendly approach. He pairs public-safety technology with enforcement against graffiti and other neighborhood problems.

His homelessness position combines offers of services with enforcement of existing laws. His land-use priorities include restoring Santiago Creek and securing permanent open space at the former Sully-Miller property.

These are Slater’s stated priorities. Campaign assertions about reductions in crime, spending or staffing require separate evaluation and are not treated here as independently established performance measures.

Arianna Barrios: structural changes and tighter budget rules

Barrios’s issues platform calls for restricting new discretionary spending after a budget is adopted except in an emergency, explaining spending decisions publicly and reviewing city departments and processes.

She proposes faster permitting and attention to underused commercial corridors, along with closer scrutiny of long-term pension costs. Her reserve proposal would set aside a fixed share of new revenue before adding programs. She says new programs should have continuing funding or offsetting cuts.

Barrios supports the sales-tax measure before voters while arguing it must be accompanied by operational reform. That is her campaign position; this report does not independently adopt her characterization of the city’s finances or her criticism of other officials.

What is verified about personal voting?

The sources reviewed for this report do not establish when or where either candidate personally cast a ballot. Campaign priorities and requests for support do not confirm a voting appearance. No polling location, voting photograph or personal-voting quotation is being attributed to either candidate.
