ORANGE, Orange County — October 25, 2026. The City of Orange has scheduled its next regular City Council meeting Tuesday, October 27, at 6 p.m. at 300 East Chapman Avenue. The municipality’s official agenda and public-comment portal lists proposals involving road maintenance, public park design and grant funding for cybersecurity. These are items up for Council consideration, not actions already approved.

What is on the agenda?

The posted consent calendar includes an agreement with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) concerning maintenance of State Route 57 within Orange. It also proposes design services with Hirsch & Associates, Inc. for the Rampart Street Park Project. Residents interested in project limits, maintenance obligations and cost should read the linked staff reports before interpreting the proposed agreements.

Cybersecurity grant: $250,000 proposed appropriation

Another item asks the Council to accept and appropriate $250,000 in grant funding from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services under a federal State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program. A grant listed for acceptance should not be described as having been spent or the security work completed. The agenda also includes approval of the October 13, 2026 City Council minutes.

How can residents participate?

The Orange City Council public participation page lists the meeting, agenda items, planned livestream and instructions for registering to speak. It provides a telephone participation option and identifies City Hall as the location. Public comments on an item should be submitted through the city’s current instructions, not through this independent newspaper website.

Other city meetings

The municipal public calendar also lists the Santiago Creek Commission and Investment Advisory Committee for Wednesday, October 28 at 5:30 p.m. Those bodies have separate functions and agendas. Later approved minutes or recordings are necessary to establish what happened at each meeting.
